Keeping families Healthy and Active
Healthy Active Kids was an initiative of BUD's Toy Library and Open Arms Care Inc. funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. This 18 month project aimed to prevent the development of cardiovascular disease in younger generations of the Bellingen Shire community by targeting families and their children.
The Healthy Active Kids project allowed the toy library to establish an excellent range of resource material, including games, books, dvd's, and pedometers introduce to educate families about the importance of healthy eating habits and physical activity and to provide more opportunities for physical activity in children and families in Bellingen Shire.
