Day Programs provide opportunities for NSW residents with an intellectual, psychiatric, physical or sensory disability and/or Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) to participate in their community and enjoy a range of purposeful, recreational and leisure activities. Each Day Program participant has a service plan individually cultivated to meet their specific needs.
Day Programs are comprised of activities related to the individual’s particular interests and life goals. These activities also encourage or enhance the following:
- Skills development such as cooking, numeracy and literacy
- Adult education, including vocational activities
- Community relationships and participation
- Healthy lifestyle such as gym, hydrotherapy
- Recreation and leisure
The service user is not eligible for a day program if undertaking full-time paid employment or formal education; although they may be studying. Available placements are prioritised by need.
